Shingle roofing, installed by the book

Asphalt shingle roofing offers San Antonio homeowners a durable, cost-effective, and aesthetically versatile solution. Available in a broad range of colors and profiles, shingle systems deliver proven weather resistance, straightforward maintenance, and exceptional long-term value.

The shingles we install, by name

TAMKO Titan XT is the shingle we lead with, and for good reason: TAMKO Titan XT took Shingle of the Year in both 2024 and 2025, so you're putting an award-winning, best-in-class shingle on your roof. Titan XT is warrantied against winds up to 160 mph for 15 years, with a heavier build that stands up to Texas hail and heat. Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration is the strong second option, a woven SureNail nailing strip and a 130 mph wind resistance limited warranty on a standard four-nail pattern, and Duration FLEX adds SBS rubberized asphalt for a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest there is. We're certified with both manufacturers, as a TAMKO Pro Gold Certified installer and an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, so the warranties behind those numbers hold.

What a Class 4 shingle does to your insurance bill

Class 4 means the shingle survived a 2-inch steel ball dropped from 20 feet, twice in the same spot. Many Texas insurers offer a premium credit for a documented Class 4 roof, often 10 to 30 percent on the wind and hail portion, though the Texas Department of Insurance does not require carriers to offer one and amounts vary, so ask your agent. The credit is never automatic: your carrier wants the exact product name, its UL 2218 certification, and usually TDI Form PC068 completed by the contractor. We fill out that paperwork as part of the job. One caveat worth knowing up front: carriers often pair the credit with a cosmetic-damage exclusion.

Fifteen to twenty Texas summers

South Texas shortens a shingle's life: expect 15 to 20 years here against the 20 to 30 the same product gets in a milder climate. Daily heat cycling and UV do the slow aging; hail does the sudden damage. Impact-resistant lines stretch the lifespan and blunt the hail, which is why they're part of every replacement conversation we have.

Do Class 4 shingles lower my insurance premium in Texas?

Usually, yes. Many Texas insurers offer a credit for UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistant roofs, commonly 10 to 30 percent on the wind and hail portion of the premium, but no carrier is required to offer one and amounts vary, so ask your agent. The discount is also not automatic: you need the product documentation and usually TDI Form PC068 from your contractor, which we complete for you.
